Sunrise Florida – An Overview


Sunrise, Florida is situated on the western bank of Lake Mary and is the second largest city on the Gulf Coast. The city is divided into four sections which are Downtown Sunrise, Brickell, Sunny Isles Beach and downtown Miami. The city is located on the south-eastern edge of Lake Mary and is served by three main highways: I-75, US Highway 192 and Florida’s Turnpike. Sunrise is home to a number of businesses as well as residential areas and the economy of the city is based on tourism and retail sales. The city has two major airports and there are a number of international airports in proximity to the city. The state of Florida offers a number of vacation destinations within driving distance as well. The city also has an excellent public transportation system, making it easy for residents and visitors alike to reach the major attractions and shopping areas in the area in a convenient and affordable manner. The city is also served by the Sunshine Skyway which runs through Downtown Sunrise. The city is known for its diverse and vibrant culture and provides a great deal of entertainment for those who live in the area and also provides a means for those who travel through to the area to see other areas of Florida and stay in the area and experience the beauty and warmth of the Florida sun.
