Activities and Attractions in El Portal
As a Miami-Dade County village, El Portal got its name after two wooden gates that once stood as a gateway to the town, and the name is from the Spanish term for ‘the gate.’ In 1925, the city was annexed into the City of Miami and became a neighborhood of the City of Miami.
