The cost of a custom mirror is $25.00 per square foot on average, but it can cost between $25 and $75 depending on the size, shape, and thickness of the mirror you choose.
The most common mirrors the professionals make and install are ¼” thick.
Current trends include frameless designs, backlit LED mirrors, round or oval shapes, and oversized mirrors for a modern look. Smart mirrors with integrated technology and backlit mirrors are also trending, providing both functionality and a touch of luxury.
Custom mirrors cost more due to precise fabrication, higher glass quality, and custom-cut sizing that fits specific spaces.
An electrician is only needed if the mirror includes built-in lighting or other electrical components. Standard mirrors can be installed without one.
Look for a flat and even glass surface with a thick and sturdy construction, especially around the edges. Distortions, such as a wavy reflection or double images, indicate lower quality.
Common options include flat polished, beveled, pencil polished, and seamed edges. Each gives a different finished look depending on style preference.
Size depends on the manufacturer’s limits and shipping constraints, but custom mirrors can be made up to 96 inches wide or more.
